Braised beef chunks with carrots

Ingredients

500 grams beef

2 carrots

1 tomato

1 piece ginger

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 star anise

1 black cardamom

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method

1. Slice the beef into chunks

 

2. Drop the beef chunks in a skillet, pour some cold water in the skillet, heat the skillet over high heat, bring to a boil, boil for 3 minutes, take out the beef, rinse with cold water

 

3. Peel and rinse the carrots, roll and slice the carrots

 

4. Slice the ginger, slice the tomato into chunks

 

5. Heat another skillet over high heat, pour vegetable oil in the skillet, heat the oil until shimmering, drop the beef in the skillet, stir until even, pour soy sauce in the skillet, stir until even

 

6. Add the tomato in the skillet, stir until even

 

7. Add star anise, black cardamom, black peppers, and ginger in the skillet, stir until even

 

8. Pour some water in the skillet, bring to a boil

 

9. Turn down to low heat, boil for 20 minutes, drop the carrots in the skillet, stir until even

 

10. Season with salt, boil for 20 minutes, until cooked through

 

11. Turn up to high heat to thicken

 

12. Once thickened, serve
