Homestyle sauteed wild rice stem


400 grams wild rice stem

2 garlic cloves, chopped

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon white sugar

1 tablespoon barbecue sauce

1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon sliced green onion


1. Trim the wild rice stems


2. Peel the wild rice stems


3. Roll and slice the wild rice stems


4. Immerse the wild rice stems in boiling water for 1 minute, take out, drain


5. Heat a skillet over high heat, pour vegetable oil in the skillet, heat the oil until shimmering, add garlic in the skillet, stir until fragrant, add the wild rice stems in the skillet


6. Stir until the wild rice stems are softened


7. Add soy sauce, white sugar, and barbecue sauce in the skillet, stir until even, season with salt, pour little water in the skillet, cover the skillet with a lid, turn down to medium heat


8. Simmer for 5 minutes, until thickened


9. Serve, sprinkle the wild rice stems with green onions
